Can you believe that December is already here? Our first week will be spent on fairy tales and the following 2 weeks will be spent on Christmas. We will be making some things for Christmas gifts that are of top secret. Hopefully everybody can keep a secret until Christmas! As most of you know, the last day of school before break will be December 19th. We will be returning on January 5th, 2009.
I have started using the color sticks as a discipline method since the rest of the school is using the same method. So far it is working really well. The kids do not like having their sticks moved. Green is a good day, yellow means that they had a five minute time out and their happy note taken away, and finally, red means that they had been in time out more than once and they received no happy note or no sucker. If you want to know what kind of day your child had, all you have to do is ask he/she what color he/she was on for the day.
I hope that everybody has a safe and enjoyable holiday!
P.S. We will be having a Christmas party, but I am unsure of the time. I'll let you know once I am told. Thanks!

November Newsletter
The month of November we will be going over the Letter T and the Letter I. I have created a copy cat book containing the two letters and the children will have an opportunity to practice writing the letters. Each new letter that we go over will be added to the copy cat book for the children to practice writing. We'll also be talking about Native Americans and Thanksgiving. We're still working hard on scissor usage as well as learning how to write our names. Those who do not know how to write their names yet are very eager to learn. It's been very exciting watching their determination and persistence!
Our unit this week is on Native Americans. I'll be discussing where they lived and what they ate. Our class will be making a head band as well as a drum (assuming we collect enough oatmeal containers or coffee cans). If we don't collect enough containers then we will make Indian vests instead.
The last week of November we will be talking about Thanksgiving. You may want to take a peek at our bulletin board to see the turkeys that we've already made. We continue to have fun in the preschool 3's and we're learning along the way. Thanks as always for sharing your children with me, they truly are a great bunch of kids!
